If you follow Victoria Beckham on Instagram, then you’ve probably noticed her frequent selfies—and her flawless, glowing skin. But it wasn’t always that way. Back in the 2000s, the Spice Girl was cruelly nicknamed “Spotty Spice” by the British press because of her adult acne and acne scars.

“I’ve had problematic skin from a very young age. It’s hereditary. My mother suffered as well and it’s hard to understand how that makes you feel unless you’ve been through it. Skin issues make you incredibly self-conscious.”1

After other dermatologists “couldn’t sort it out,” she finally found Dr. Harold Lancer, who she credits for turning her skin around. “He’s a dermatologist in LA. I have a really good relationship with him and have seen him for years. I had bad acne and he’s the one who got rid of it after I struggled with it through all three pregnancies with the boys.”2

Now, at 48, she maintains her complexion with a selection of luxury and facialist-recommended products—including her own from Victoria Beckham Beauty. “I struggled with my skin for years and tried countless products that didn’t deliver results. When I started using Augustinus Bader, my skin completely changed. It has never looked or felt better. I finally had healthy, hydrated skin with a natural, fresh glow. We decided to partner with him to create our Power Serum and Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturizer, which are both formulated with the breakthrough cell rejuvenating TFC8 technology. Our products not only have long-term skin-rebuilding effects, but they also help you to achieve an illuminating glow to the skin.”3

Still, she keeps things simple. “I tend to have a less-is-more approach with skincare. Fewer, better products are the way to go. I don’t have the time or patience to be fiddling with 10 different products at a time.”4

Her Morning Skincare Routine

1. Water

“In the morning I start by splashing some cold water on my face to reverse any puffiness or dullness (or glass of tequila) from the prior night. I learned this little tip from Melanie Grant, my favourite facialist. She taught me to dunk my face in ice water, but most mornings I just use ice-cold water from the tap.”
