If watching Daisy Jones & The Six left you wanting red hair, curtain bangs and long waves, then join the club. Riley Keough played the Stevie Nicks-esque title character—and her hairstyle was key in capturing the carefree Boho vibes of the ’70s.

But if you thought it was all-natural, think again. Riley isn’t actually a redhead (she once shared “the only existing picture” of her natural hair colour, which is apparently ash brown). And her signature Daisy Jones look was just one in a long list of hair colours and styles that she’s tried over the years.

While her modelling and acting roles have called for everything from blonde waves to a platinum bob, the 35-year-old keeps things simple when she’s not working. “I’m super natural with my hair. I go to Whole Foods and buy whatever’s in front of me. What I have feels like a giant mane, so it’s easy to get lazy about it. It’s sort of the bane of my existence.”1

Not only does she have a lot of hair, it’s also very curly. “I use really good conditioner or I’ll get dread locks. I try and keep my hair healthy, get it trimmed when it needs it and condition it. My hair will start to dread if I don’t use a handful because it’s so curly.”2

You’d never guess, based on all her different looks below. Keep scrolling to see the haircuts, hair colours and hairstyles that Riley has experimented with, from 2006 until now.
