“I cut my hair for me.”

Lucy Hale has been experimenting with her hair ever since she first rose to fame on Pretty Little Liars more than a decade ago. Back then, the natural brunette was all about the long, mermaid waves, just like most celebs at the time.

But then, she started going shorter and shorter—eventually chopping off eight inches.

“It was the most liberating thing I’ve ever done. I couldn’t tell you the amount of times when guys were like, ‘You should grow your hair out again. I like long hair.’ I’m like, ‘I’m not cutting my f*cking hair for you.’ I cut my hair for me. And I feel great with it this way.”1

Now, the 34-year-old is best-known for her classic bob. (“I just feel like super dark hair, very short blunt bob, is inherently when I feel my best.”2) But she definitely hasn’t stopped switching things up.
