Kinfield Sunglow Sunscreen Review: Is This Luminizing Tinted Sunscreen Right for You?
Finding the perfect sunscreen can seem like an impossible task. As someone who’s tested dozens of formulas over the years, I know all too well the feeling of disappointment with SPFs that feel heavy, look greasy, leave a white cast, or worst of all, trigger breakouts.
But what if I told you that I’ve finally discovered a sunscreen that ticks off all my boxes?
I’m talking about Kinfield Sunglow Luminizing Facial Sunscreen Lotion SPF 35—a lightweight mineral sunscreen that is unlike any other.
Read on to find out what it’s like and whether you should try it.
What It Is & Who It’s For
Kinfield Sunglow is a mineral sunscreen for your face that gives you SPF 35 protection with a luminous finish.
As you know, one of the biggest challenges with zinc oxide-based sunscreens is that they can leave a white cast. The brand solved that issue by giving this formula a sheer rose gold tint (which I’ll show you in just a moment!).
But that’s not the only thing Sunglow has going for it. With its ultra-light texture, anyone who hates the typical heavy, greasy feel of most sunscreens will appreciate it—especially people with oily skin.
The brand also claims that it is non-comedogenic, and I’ve verified that it is indeed free of pore-clogging ingredients. So it’s ideal for acne-prone skin, too.
Plus, as a mineral formula, it’s good for sensitive skin, since zinc oxide has anti-inflammatory benefits.
Packaging & Texture
Kinfield Sunglow comes in a 2 oz. tube with a removable cap. Both are entirely made from recyclable materials.
When you’ve finished the product, all you need to do is cut open the tube to remove any remaining product residue. Then, just re-attach the cap and toss into your recycling bin.
As for what’s inside, Sunglow itself has a gel-cream texture that is incredibly lightweight. (You can also see the rosy tint here, and how it’s already catching the light.)
Most sunscreens are thick, white, creamy, and a bit greasy—at least for the first few minutes, until they dry down. That’s not the case here at all. It’s much thinner and more spreadable than the norm, and there’s zero greasy feel.
Honestly, I think it has the nicest feeling on the skin of any sunscreen I’ve tried!

Here are the key ingredients in Kinfield Sunglow, and what they’re doing in this formula:
- Zinc oxide: The most important ingredient is the 20% concentration of zinc oxide. This is the single best UV filter available in North America because it provides extensive broad-spectrum protection against both UVA (the aging rays) and UVB (the burning rays).1 Unlike most “chemical” filters, it doesn’t penetrate your skin, so there’s no risk of hormone disruption, and it’s also photostable and reef-safe.2,3
- Coco-caprylate: This emollient is what gives the formula its lightweight, easy-to-spread texture. It’s derived from coconut alcohol and caprylic acid, and is a natural alternative to volatile silicones such as cyclomethicone.4
- Dicaprylyl carbonate: This is another fast-spreading emollient, known for its velvety feel. It’s often used in sunscreens because it helps to dissolve UV filters and disperse pigments.5
- Cetyl alcohol: As a fatty alcohol, this ingredient is moisturizing—not drying like denatured alcohol. It’s also used to thicken up products and emulsify ingredients.6
- Microcrystalline cellulose: This natural ingredient (found in the cell walls of plants) is responsible for the formula’s non-greasy feel. When used as an ultra-fine powder, it mattifies, reduces greasiness and creates a silky-soft texture.7
- Natural minerals: Kinfield works with an ethical mine to source mica and iron oxides, which are natural minerals that produce the shimmering rose gold tint.
